Default RE: New recurve.

Both the Kodiak and the Martin have a long history of being great bows. I like the pre-88 Kodiaks, but I think they've gone downhill somewhat since Papa Bear passed away. The Martin Hunter is a fine bow. I've owned a half dozen of them, won a few tournaments with 'em, shot a bunch of game. But... I think they're way overpriced now.

I agree with Rich. The ChekMate Falcon is a much, much better deal. Just can't see spending a bunch more money for a one-size-fits-most, pre-fab, off the rack production bow than I'd have to spend to get a bow specially made to draw the poundage I want at my draw length, with my choice of woods and glass colors. That's what you get with the Falcon.

Of course, you put in your order than have to wait for it to be made, but patience is well rewarded.

To answer your question though, it'd be a Ford vs Chevy deal between the Kodiak and Hunter. Personally, I like the way the Kodiak's grip feels in my hand better than the feel of the Hunter's, but I won't chuck rocks at the Martin either.
