Springfield 1911's are about the best 1911 for the money.

However if you are going to want to add after market parts you may as well get them already on the gun. It will be much cheaper on the long run to go ahead and get what you want on it now then to do it piece by piece.

A couple things you will immediately find out that you want will be a beaver tail grip safety and different sights.
