Oh Hail!!!
Well i went out around 12 this afternoon, after some lunch and heard that a front was coming through and temps were suppost to drop. Saw a couple of doe run through, but nothing close enough. Then around 2 i hit the grunt tube and rattle bag, and not more then 15 minutes later a monster 12 come running in, full tilt. By now the sky was getting dark and the buck stops at about 40 yards, outside of my comfort range. Not more then 30 seconds after he stops, a huge bolt of lightening followed by the roar of the thunder. The clouds did not even look that bad, but need less to say the buck bolted and oppertunity was gone. Then on my walk out Its starts to Hail. It was coming down hard too. I think it was mother natures way of mocking me, especially becasue this is the same buck i missed opening morning when i shotunder him.
Notgiving up,i will be out there tomorrow, hopefully with better luck!
