I have used them with success. They don't need a sabot, but I have had better accuracy with a wonder wad between the powder and bullet. Also, you don't want to try to drive them too hard. 100 gr. of Pyrodex RS was a good hunting load.
If they are legal in your area, however, I would take a hard look at the 250 gr. Shockwave. They can be driven to some pretty impressive speeds with good accuracy, or loaded to moderate speeds with good results as well. Great all around hunting load.
