I practiced all year from 0-70 yards in case a big one stepped out. I wanted to be able to make a really long shot on a monster. Sitting in my stand after I passed up a 55 yd. shot at a 140 class 8 was a tough decision, but the right one. Thinking on it, it's not ethical. Practicing out to those ranges helps your accuracy, but taking that shot wasn't the right choice at the time. I'm glad I passed, even though he was broadside.
Right thing to do!
Yea, some guys can shoot the eyeballs out of a deer target at 80 yards but to try it on an actual deer is "slightly" unethical. I don't care what anyone says, those long shots are bad judgement. Hunt before you shoot. Get them in close and make a clean kill.
