I have shot four caribou, a black bear, and a moose with my .338 RUM. All except the moose were one-shot kills. It is a fast, flat shooting rifle and I have been impressed with what it can do to large animals. It shatters bone and anchors those beasts NOW! On my moose last year, I shot him in the lungs, then anchored him in the neck, as I did not want him to enter the river just a few yards away. I missed the spine in the neck, but the force from the shot actually knocked him down, right THERE! Impressive. I have complete confidence in this round and highly recomend it. It does kick like a bastard though
