Ya, I've shot my buddies' 17s and killed coons/jacks/cottontails/skunks/etc, and I personally feel they are too light for a 'yote. I've shot yotes with my 22mag while calling, and that is almost too small. Yes, a well placed shot will put one down, but tracking a wounded yote is not fun. I will more than likely invest in another 223, as I have 1,000 rounds loaded and ready. I believe it will be a Tikka Tactical when I take the plunge.
