Congrats on the doe MOM. It's amazing how far they can run after a double lung hit sometimes. Others times, they drop within 20 yards.
I got another lesson in taking the first available shot this past Friday. I was hunting some property where you have to take a doe before a buck. There is a monster out there that they have on video. Guessing around 190-200. So I'm in my stand and a doe is walking behind me. She comes up to a stream crossing at 35 yards. Perfect broadside shot for about 20-30 seconds. I figure she is going to cross the stream and give me a 20 yard shot so I hold off. Well she just turned around and walked away. [:@] If that monster walks by in a couple of weeks I can't shoot him until I get a doe. [

I'll be out again this Friday and maybe I'll get lucky. The deer on public land have been pressured a lot already so they are hard to find now.
