Default RE: Does anybody cover the muzzle

If anybody does this, do you fire through the cover?? Will it stick to the muzzle??
Does anybody cover their primer??
I got the idea to tape the muzzles of my C/F rifles years ago from an article in a hunting magazine about guides up in Canada and Alaska doing that to keep from accidently plugging the barrels with snow, mud, etc.

For the bigger muzzles on muzzleloaders, I started outusing "muzzy mitts" made for that purpose, but they're so expensive, I switched tofinger cots.

The finger cots are not as strongor durable as the"muzzy mitts" but they do good enough...occasionally have to replace one during a hunt...I get a couple boxes from a drug store each season.

On caplocks, I use what are called "Kap Kovers"...they use a HotShot Nipple with an O-ring around it, then the brass Kap (bell shaped) slips down snugly over the nipple with the O-ring around it...seals out moisture, and serves as an additional safety against a hammer dropping accidently.
