yes I use a finger cot from Wal Mart over the muzzle and you can shoot right through it without any problem. Over the percussion cap take the tire valve stem cover and put that over the capped nipple then lower the hammer down on that. There is no tension then. You cock the hammer, flip the cap off and you're ready to shoot. Also you are nice and water resistant...
