Johnny and Rico, are you two still arguing about those dogs? I have never owned a dog of my own in my life so I'm not going to get into this debate right now. I've also never eaten crow....what's it taste like?<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
Rico, I stuck a doe with my bow last week. The first deer I've ever killed with my bow. This is my 4th season with it and I was really wanting to kill something. Here is a pic.....
The deer movement has been pretty slow around here and I've seen no signs of a pre-rut. I figure by late October it should be picking up pretty good. Rico, I talked to a guy who hunted Alazan Bayou last week and he saw one doe and 3 squirrel hunters.lol I'll be honest, Sam Houston is your best bet. I know there are alot of hunters but there isn't that many bow hunters. The best thing to do is get a map and find some remote access to the forest. I heard that they banned all baiting in any national forests so that will really make it tuff locating deer in all those pine trees. Good luck and let us know what you see.
