I used to have the same gun but i sold it when i bought my new SBEII. I used all kinds of 3.5" shells for geese in it and they all worked fine for me. The only suggestion or thought i have on that problem might be to clean your gun good and oil your receiver on the gun. It might help it might not idk but good luck.
