Why do lever action have accuracy issues? Are there mods that have reasonable cost to get them to shoot better? Would hand loading solve the problem?

I got rid of a 30-30 that would satisify any hunter in terms of accuracy but not me as a hunter/shooter. I just want to know if I should avoid levers all together if this is my stance.
