To be honest, all of those suggestions sound fine, but if i were you, even though you are new getting into hunting, id just go ahead and get a autoloading gun and forget the pump idea. I love pumps, i grew up on them but for the pheasant and waterfowl you will wish u had an auto gun. Just something to think about before you lay down 300 bucks.
