Default RE: Hunting WV public land

I just traveled up to the Sleepy Creek area this past weekend to look around some since I am somewhat new to the area. I noticed that there was quite a bit of mast. There are acorns everywhere but not too much in terms of deer sign. My wifes grandfather tried to show me around a little bitbut we didn't get very far. I think over the next couple weeks I will travel there and sit for a little while and see what happens. If any of you guys that have experience with that area and have any any suggestions I would appreciate it. I was looking around at the opposite end from the lake I belive. I also have permission to hunt nearly 4000 acres over near Moorefied and Baker so I may get up there a few times. Good Luck guys.

Go to the shooting range. As your leaving the range, take a left. The 1st clearcut after the shooting range on the right. Park there, walk to the left of the clearcut and go straight back... you will come to an old beaver dam thats loaded with grasses, a stream, mountain laurel, and has 4 hills coming together.
