I would stay far away from the 710's. Like has been said already check out the pawn shops, that's where the best deals are to be had. I would suggest looking at the Savages', Howa's or the Remington 700 ADL. There is nothing wrong with buying a used gun, just be picky and don't settle for just anything. There's also nothing wrong with asking your buddy for help either.
