BC- before switching over to my Encore a few years ago, I often sprinkled a little bit of powder underneath the nipple of my T/C Renegade to make sure the charge lit when I fired. Prior to that, I also fired a dry cap to burn off any moisture that may be lurking underneath.
Maybe these two steps were a bit of an overkill, but I never had a misfire.
