Are you talking about body size or horn score. If it's horn score, I judge in the stand by if the horns are outside the ears and the length and mass of the tines. Body size I judge off other deer in the immediate area, or if there are none, estimate based off other deer I seen killed around the same size. Granted the terrain and height of my stand can play tricks on me in low light conditions.
