I've heard that Nikon makes nice scopes. I haven't ever owned one, but as with everything in life, inspect it before you buy it. I would also imagine that with hotter hunting rounds you are going to have a serious recoiling machine. I'm sure if you practice with it you will be fine. I would definitely buy one first for you, and let the wife try it out, and then if she wants one from there you can get one. Don't run out and buy his and hers...or you might end up with his and his (meaning she wont like the recoil) and youll have to hunt with one on each hip lol...and those things are heavy!
