One thing to consider here that I haven't seen posted yet is the yote population around where you hunt. We've got a bunch of them little nasty suckers running around our property. I hit one in the gut 2 days ago. I let her lay up for about 3 hours the first round and went to look for her at night. It's like finding a needle in a haystack at night because sometimes the blood is so thin or sparse. I decided to back off until morning so I didn't push her if she was still alive. Well, I tossed and turned that night because I knew the yotes had a good chance at finding her before I did and sure enough they did. I found her the next morning at the kill site and they just ripped every piece of good meat there was on her. So ina situation like that you have to think about things like that and make a decision. I felt I did the best I could do in recovering her but the yotes beat me to it.
