RE: Seeing More Deer.....beside the road.
Here in Iowa the roadkill numbers go up as the corn crops and bean fields get picked. A lot of it happens when the combines are moving through the fields, the deer run to escape right into the front bumper of a passing vehicle. Then once the crops are picked the road kills are usually near spots where timber and bedding on one side and the cut fields on the other. When driving to my hunting grounds at night, I usually drive around 45 mph which drives the locals crazy. But too many times, I have had people pass me and give me the bird and then within a mile I see them on the side of the road with a deer hood ornament. Always stop to make sure they're ok, then make a comment about how I'm glad I was going slow to avoid such a situation... hehehe
