Congrats.

Success with a front-stuffer is something that not every hunter can pull off. Your attention to detail as you experimented with different loads before the season opened, learned the tricks of BP cleanup and proper care have served to add to the success of your first BP kill. Just about anyone can chamber a .308 and take a 250 yard shot at a deer and be successful...eventually anyway.
As for taking a button buck. Look, you did your best to identify the target and make a clean kill. When the latter didn't go exactly according to plan, you did your best to quickly take care of the animal. Every hunter has to make a finishing shot sometime in their career. Bottom line, now you have meat in the freezer. Yeah, you did ok in my book

Congrats again. Hope you took plenty of pictures with your first ML trophy!
