Micarta and/or phenolic risers seem to be about as bomb-proof as you can get (I have seen that they are not 100% foolproof though), but the added weight turns me off bigtime. Guess that is one of the reasons I prefer a longbow.
CaptJack, have you talked to Bob or know him? I was wondering why he doesn't warranty his bows if you use &quot;high performance&quot; (Fast Flight, Dynaflight, 450+, etc.) strings. I have been meaning to ask him myself, but haven't taken the time to do it.

Chad- known Bob many years- no- I don't know why he doesn't guarantee his bow with FastFlight strings but I'm sure he would tell you. He uses Micarta on his limb tips so the FastFlight strings shouldn't bother the limbs.
His risers only have Micarta accent pieces they're made out of Durawood.
