RE: recomedations for recurve
Chad,
The two bolt system supposedely takes a dry fire much better than a single bolt and pin system.
The alignment pins used on your Chek-Mate bows seem to be thick and well made
But some alignment pins I have seen are so small they are pathetic.
The Sley has metal alignment sleeves for the bolts, micarta overlays on both sides of the limb butt, micarta on the riser face, and the most massive limb tips of any recurve I've ever seen.
The tips on my Sley are even more massive than any Long Bow I have seen. They are micarta overlayed on both sides just like the limb butts.
Is all this really needed ?
Not really, but I love overbuilt hell for strong bows like the Sley.
My Bowman compound just happens to be a monster strong bow.
It's the strongest compound in history and is way overbuilt also.
I just happen to like my bows built like a tank.
The next recurve I have in mind is a Wings of the Wind with all micarta riser, double limb bolts and horn tips and horn overlays on
the riser. The Wings is a brute strong bow that is overlooked by most people.
Sag.
