Ok , that was a little bit much, But lets face it You can shoot a Wheely bow for a week or two and get darn good with it. Most guys I know pull them out a week before season shoot them and make some minor adjustments and walla there ready to hunt.

In my opinion, thats one of the problems we have as bowhunters. People can shoot a compound for a few weeks and they can group decent and they think they are ready to go hunting. Thats why we have all these 'lost one, missed one' posts. Yes, you can group fair after a few weeks but most who shoot alot know that things change - your muscles, string, etc., the weather impacts arrow flight, etc., etc. They think they are great archers after a few weeks and they are not. Most people who shoot alot would tell you they learned so much more after they began shooting a lot on a regular basis than what they thought they knew when they were shooting good groups with minimal practice. You get to know your bow and your abilities so much better. Not to mention under hunting conditions at unsure distances. My opinion is a gun is no different. Lots of animals are lost not just to archers but gun hunters as well and for the same reason. They sight (they think) their rifles in just before season after not shooting them all year and think they are ready when in fact they are not. Yes, we have made weapons easier but they still take time to really learn. Its always been that man has tried to improve everything around him and will always be. Most will settle in with whatever degree of advancement/improvement they are happy with.
how times change I see it every year. This year I saw a guy who baught a brand new bow tec he had never shot the day before opening day, he had one pin on the bow and was hitting the bullseye every shot from 10 to 40 yards. it was kind of a eye opening experiance, Later in the year I saw his pic at Sportsmen wherehouse with a nice 6X6, Good for him I am glad he got one. But still it makes me wonder where this is going. granted There are exceptions to everything and most of us, do it the right way or what we feel is right. I wish you guys could see whats comming out soon, can you say 400fps Problem that is holding it back right now is arrow stablization but they will work the bugs out.
