RE: Sighting in scope
I would get a VERY LARGE PIECE OF CARDBOARD and put a small bulls eye dead center in it. Then start at 25 yards with Shockwaves. If your Black Diamond XR is like mine, use 100 grains of powder to get the scope close.
Shoot your first three shot group at that distance and if they group tight, which they should, then make an adjustment to the scope. Be sure and swab between each shot you take. When you shoot your second group be sure and do an extra good job of swabbing the bore. Keep swabbing and shooting until your cutting the bulls eye out at 25 yards.
Then move it back to 100 yards. Mine then was hitting just at the bottom of the bull with the same load. At this distance I also started working the load up. I got it up to 110 grains of Goex 2f and was happy with that.
I also had real good luck shooting 200 grain Shockwaves and 375 grain Buffalo Bullet SSB's. All of them shot real well out of the Diamond. I intend to shoot the 200 grain Shockwaves this deer season and see how they do in the large hay field....
Good luck with the rifle.
