RE: The nerve of some hunters!!
Ignore him. If you have the chance meeting face to face and he mentions it, tell him "And you're spooking all the deer from us by wandering and driving around at first light". If he doesn't mention it, just ignore it. It just isn't worth getting all bent out of shape about. You know, he's got a lot of nerve. I had a guy that tried that one time only he tried posting some State land behind a farmers field. So my buddy sets up right on a posted sign. The guy shows up at about 9 AM ranting and raving. When he finally stopped talking my buddy ask him who he was, "Is your name New York"? The guy stammered and said he was trying to keep the out of staters from hunting. My buddy said, you mean like my buddy from Maryland that's 100 yards further into "YOUR" posted land. Chuck called me on the radio. I told him to tell the guy we figured we'd just call the state and report him. The guy moved on and we tore down his posted signs. The idiot didn't own ANY land around there. He just tried to flim flam a whole ridge top for himself.
YOU kNOW>... I"M mad as HE!!. I think you should call this idiot and tell him not to be messing with your truck or posting notes on it or in any way interfer with your hunting. Tell him it's the perfect access to the area you're hunting. You've been doing it for 10 years. Tell the damn "ROAD HUNTER" to find another trail to ride by. I suspect the guy is whacking them from the road with some small caliber weapon. I don't care if he's the Trophy Hunter of all Trophy hunters or a flathead expert. He's got a lot of nerve. Chances are he's seen a big one in the area and is trying to run people out.... OR... he's trying to get you to drive out the thickets and bedding areas so you'll push something his way. Now that I'd say is a great possibility.
