The guy has done nothing illegal. And there is no way to get a harrassment to stick. He is driving a public road and is on property he has permission to. He hasn't hunted in 5 years only because he wounded a monster years ago.
The part that pisses with me the most is he is wanting some common respect but is yet to dish any out. He claims the deer cross right there, yet there is nothing that makes them cross there. It is all open field. They cross anywhere within that mile of road, trust me..I have seen them. The empty vehicle at the road does not slow them down. They walk right by it. But when it is putting down the road and stopping to check the deer out, they turn and run. The only advantage I can see with him hunting is he won't be driving up and down the roads.
And the other thing is a note. I drive by his house a minimum of 2 times per hunt. It wouldn't be to hard to flag me down while I drive by.
I think there is many sides to this.
1st The guy has some balls. He wrote he name down.
2nd If the deer cross 20 yards from your truck.I would not park there.
3rd I dont walk in on deer trails at all.I normaly take the least used[by the deer]way in.
4th The guy that drives less than 50 yards from your friends stand sucks.I would move my stand,or would have never put it in a spot where ANY one could drive by.
The answer to 2 & 3... Just as above. Open field, when the deer decide to cross, they don't care where it is, they just go.
And to #4... Having a stand 30 yards off the field edge that is half a mile to the nearest road isn't usually where anybody drives except for a combine or tractor.
I won't do anything to try and mess up his hunting, but I sure as heck am not going to help him out.
I guess I was just needing to vent a little more.
