Default Weekend experience

I thought you all might like to hear about my Friday. I headed down to Denton to visit family and participate in a bicycle ride Saturday. However, I had a free afternoon Friday so I gave ArthurP a holler.

He came by and picked me up and we headed out to his local archery club range and flung some arrows. What a great time! I learned more in the few hours there by watching and listening than I have in all hours spent online and with my nose in a book. If you're out there trying to get started in Traditional archery, find some experience and hang out with them!! It's amazing the little things you can pick up just observing. I was making some technique mistakes that AP picked up on, and now I get to work on and makes some new muscles sore.

Denton has a great range. They have the field targets and a walk-thru 3D setup.I had never shot 3D with a longbow, so that was a new experience. What a hoot! If you haven't done that I'd suggest you find a place!! I only lost 2 arrows , a rabbit came by to laugh at AP and I, and I got to see several different bows.

It was great weather, great shooting, and great company. I'd like to thank Arthur again for his time and knowledge. I hope to make it back down again soon for an organized shoot!
