I just went out and tried those same Federal fusions in my .270. THey grouped right at an inch - 1.25 inch in the very short and rushed range session last Sunday. I hope to have more time this weekend and try them some more. I think they can do much better than what I got this time.
I also tried the 165 grain fusions out of my 300 WSM I built. It has a #3 contour barrel cut at 25.5 inchel long so it's a bit whippy

and heats up very quickly but it managed to consistantly make two shots touch and the third strayed about 1.25 inches from the first two. I imagine if I have the time to let the barrel cool between shots it will group very very well with them.
I think they are going to be an excelent all around bullet for everything from deer to moose.
