I totally agree! I chew Skoal Mint and spit right out of my tree. I say the same thing, hunting to me is therapeutic and relaxing, as soon as it becomes more work than play I will stop. Maybe I have scared deer, but I do know that I have shot deer as well and if some of those old timers who still smoke in stand can get a deer than I know I sure damn well can<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>!
One thing, I have most of my stands in pine trees and I think maybe the needles at the base of the tree might mask the odor a little bit. I do know that spitting on pine needles from 25-30 ft is a lot quieter than spitting on dry oak leafs!
