The way I did it was I decided I wouldn't hunt fields anymore and walked along the field and noted where the major runs were. Then I followed them into the swamps and tried to get a place back in the swamp that was along the best runway.
Great advice. I found much the same thing though not with swamps. A thick area between the deer's feeding and bedding area usually proves very productive.
