I've been following this thread from its inception. I've refrained from commenting because I didn't want to sound like an idiot. I am a rookie at elk hunting I suppose. I've hunted them for 4 years, hardly enough to know it all. This season was the first time I've actually tried calling on my own. I got lucky on a nice 6 x 6 bull. I will say this though, in my experience bulls rarely sound as good as the tapes. I bought elknuts videos and practiced up so I gave it a whirl. Funny thing is I taught my guide a couple of the things I learned on the video. He thought it was terrific and intended to use it on the following hunts. I guess what I'm saying is give it a try. whats the worst that can happen?
