You can shoot them into a foam target and the blades will be dull after just one or two shots. Also the foam has a habit of getting into the ferrul and gumming up the works. So after you pratice you have to take the braodhead apart. Clean out the grooves and then replace the blades. Once you have done that they should be good to hunt with. If you don't clean them out they probabely will not operate correctly when you go hunt with them..
