A farmer just did that to an area I hunt.It changed things alot but I think he planted winter wheat.
Right now the field is barron.How long does it take for winter wheat to come up?
They do one of two things in the fall after they plow.
One- they do it to turn over the soil and break apart the root mass and plan on planting crop in the spring.
two- they plow the fields and plant winter wheat.

This dude is neither. Maybe it's a training ground for his employees or something on how to drive a tractor.... who knows.

Winter wheat won't get very high during hunting season (around here anyway). 8-12 inches is what the farmers want before growing season stops.
