RE: broken leg doesn't aid in getting me to the woods
If you have a good buddy to help you give the ground blind a try. Even if the deer won't get close enough for a bow shot you will at least be out there.
I use a blind a good bit last year and it seemed that they did get used to it after a few days.
I had knee catilage cut out on July 29. I'm hoping I won't have any problems getting up a tree. I may be in a blind for bow season as well but at least I'll be out there.
