Thanks folks. All of the well wishes are very well received. To put an ending to the story....

...I skinned and butchered it this afternoon. The head and a good portion of the cape then found their way to the local taxidermist. I paid off last year's 6 and put a nice down payment on this one.

I attempted to go back out again this afternoon but found myself dozing in a treestand that was ill suited for the spot considering the wind conditions. I got down after only 20 minutes and call it quits. No point ruining a perfect day.
