RE: Which sights?
I intended to install the Lyman sights (receiver sight and front globe sight) on my M48. However, I decided to give the Mojo aperture sights a try, before having my receiver D & T'd (a permanenet alteration). Well, I've never gotten the Lyman sights - the Mojos are just fine. I use the front aperture, in addition to the rear aperture (which Mojo calls the "snapsight")....and I find them to be quite accurate and easy to use. Being able to look through the front sight, to the target, helps me a good deal. The rear sight is, of course, fully adjustable for windage and elevation. Also, the Mojos have replaceable apertures, now (front and rear). The standard aperture is .15". Optional are apertures of .12" and .090". I find that the .12" aperture in the rear sight....and the .090" aperture in the front, give the best accuracy. I shoot at ranges from 0 to 150 yards (hunting)....and usually 100 metres, at the range. The Mojos work very well for my purposes. They also do not require any permanent alterations to the rifle....and are easily installed (no gunsmith required).
