Which sights?
Well, it looks like in about2 months, I will be able to finallysporterize my Yugo 24/47 8mm Mauser. I have done nothing to it since I got it sometime last year. I plan to put a good set of peep sights on and have the bolt bent. I don't want to add anything else, as this will be a back-up and "truck gun" to be used for everything from coyotes to badgers, to antelope and deer.
I have in mind the Lyman sightsbecause they are steel, as opposed to the aluminum Williams peep sights.
My main question is for what type of front sights to get. Also, what inserts for shots up to no more than about 200 yards?
I have a load so far consisting of 48 grains of IMR 3031 and a 150 grain Hornady SP, with CCI 200 primers, and RP cases. I think that should handle everything up to and including the biggest mule deer with little trouble. I just have not done anymore loads since I have found that it will shoot ok. I just need some sights I can see out of as opposed to the original military sights that are on the gun right now.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
