Default RE: How to load a deer on a suv by yourself?

I always traveled with a plastic tarp during deer season. When I got one I just through it in the back of my Explorer and thru the deer in on top. If you're all bent on carrying it on top, just hooktwo ropes to it, throwthem over a limb, hookoneto your car, pull it up with the car, tie it off withthe otherrope. Back under it and let it down. Problem being, finding a tree near by with a limb to throw the ropes over. I guess you could use a screw in step or something to get it up, pull it out with another rope and let it down. I guess you could try your tarp skid bit with a rope around a tree in front, run it over the top and downto the deer. Back up pulling the deer up and over, but it'd put some serious rope burns on you car unless you put in a skid bar or two or something. Hey, how about the old Indian levers. You know, a couple lodge poles tied together. Attach the deer to the apex, run a rop out and pull the lodge pples and deer up and drop 'em on the car. I can see it now. Hunter killed by falling deer.[8D]
