700 grains I would doubt. 70 grains I would believe. I load 80 grains of FFg and 100 grains of powder in my .62 caliber smoothbore. It seems to get the job done just fine. Many people shoot even amounts of powder and shot, but you will have to experiment with patterns to find what works best for you.
700 grains of SHOT!!, NOT 700 grains of POWDER!! And use an equal
volume (NOT WEGHT!!) of FFg (or equiv.)powder. Even so, to me that seems like a real heavy load, as that 700 grains =1.6 OZ. of shot.[/b] 1.25 OZ (545 grains) of shot would be a little less likely to disjointyour shoulder!
ML shotguns should be loaded with an equal volume of powder and shot, whatever shot charge you select, with a card wad on top of the powder, a half-inch thick felt cushion wad on top of that, then the shot, and anothercard wad to hold the whole loadin.....
Good luck!!
