Nothing is more precise and humane for taking game than a rifle. Shooting with a semi auto will definately make followup shots more precise also, beacuse the hunter can stay on target and not be as rushed on 2nd and 3rd shots.The autoloading rifle should make hunting safer for the reasons above. Now the autoloader may allow the hunter one extra shot at game that he would not have gotten off with a bolt, but simply takingthat extra shot does not mean it is more dangerous.

johnl. I think you will agree that the situation Spickhorn 11 described would have been no different if the guns that were being raipid fired with no backstop were bolts or lever, or pumps wouldnt you?
