Toons, going for the spine can cause you problems if you miss the spine. You'll be out there for several hors if you shoot high and probably wont find that deer. A head shot is for "experts" and I havent met one that is that good on deer.

With a double lung shot I have had them go anywhere from 10 yards to 150 yards, but if you make a shot with a low arrow exit hole the blood trail is usually always real easy to follow. Very seldom have I had to track one for more than 150 yards.

If you want them to drop in their tracks wait for gun season, and that's no guarantee either. Go for the double lung shot for a quick and humane kill!
