The bears seem to be addicted to it. You might want to cook YOURSELF some bacon. I am sure there are no laws against eating in the woods when you are hunting. Also, you might want to get an old pair of boots and soak them with kitchen grease before you walk in. I dump kitchen grease around my bait sites so the bears will walk away and atract more when they cross the path of the grease smell. Seems to me that by doing this, you are not leaving anything to eat, just the smell of the grease to your stand. Just make sure you change your boots when you get to the stand, or your feet might vanish.
