Alright here's the deal. I found this water hole last spring while I was turkey hunting, there were 2 does wading and drinking. The pond is about 15 yards in diameter. It doesn't look like a soul has been here since I found it last spring (this is public land).
The beds shown in the pictures looked pretty fresh. Do you think this would be a daytime bedding area since it is so close to the water (90 degrees here this past week)? Also do you think I would be better off hunting it in the evening or the morning? At first I thought I would get in really early and hopefully catch them coming to drink before they bed down. I also thought about the evening, but I'm afraid this is an area they come to after a night full of eating.
I will be hunting out of a ground blind regardless, I can't get a stand in any of the trees. Any idea are appreciated. Thanks.
