Dose anybody shoot 270 cal bullets made by remminton? me and my girlfreind shoot the remmington premier accu tip 130gr, and so far the bullet shoots very good and the range and it kills deer fast. anyone?
tbuck, this is the Hornady SST bullet packaged for the big green. I am not sure what it costs for rem. ammo but up here Hornady Custom Ammo is cheaper than most rem factory mo. In my experience Hornady was only second to federal premium in my 270's when it came to best accuracy for Factory stuff...Remington wasn't in the running at all. Just an FYI. As far as the bullet itself, designed to be or compete with the Nosler Ballistic Tip. Should workfine fordeer or lopesbut don't expect anything more than what a Ballistic Tip delivers, as my experience proved very similar performance and one case more damage ensued than I was accustom to with the NBT when meeting the opposite shoulder of a large buck in tight(was fired from 7mm rem mag - 154grSST handload, BTW).

To the poster, like mentioned anything 130-150 would work, however I prefer premium bullets when hunting vs. standard. My 270 loves almost anything 130gr, 140 gr Failsafes and 150 gr Partition. For your situation 130 or 150 Nosler Partition(Fed. Premium if your buyingFactory)would be a good place to start, while it isn't really required this bullet performs very well on deer at most distances from the likes of a 270 and should you happen to hit shoulder it plows through leavingless meat loss thanmany othercup/core bullets. Seeing your saying 150 yards seems to be thelonger shotno real need for a boattail or polymer tip bullet. The 140gr Failsafes or Barnes TSX would also be a good choices, especially if you like to crowd the front quarters!

As always pick the right bullet(s) for the job or your hunting conditions and then let the rifle tell you which one to use. What works for one doesn't always work for another for various reasons....Good Luck
