I have two gold, and 1187s, and my brother has the mossbergs. The gold in my opinion has features that I love. I love the gas system on the gold. I love the quick feed feature, especially for duck/geese hunters. I love the finish and wood on the gold. But, my 1187 has yet to fail. I carry extra rubber o rings with me. I hate the rattle and cluckyness of the action. But it works.

I simply won't pay 1K for a gold. Thats rediculous. I got a gold 3" deer slugger two years ago for around $680. Thats with 100 dollar send in rebate. Then this year, they shot up in price. What the ???. I would pay 550 for a 1187 anyday over that.
