I have taken 80+ deer, and most of them with a Ruger M77 Ultra lite 270. I have tried many of the bullets mentioned above, and my gun(which has a 20" light contour barrel)favored 140+ gr bullets, so I ended up shooting Hornady 140 gr BTSP for many years and had great luck with them. My son is currentlyshooting an Encore 270, and he is shooting Winchester 130 gr ballistic silvertips and has had great luck with them. I would suggest picking a couple different bullet weights and see what you gun likes. Good luck with your choice.
