If you are implying that he left the area because I was in the area, you would be wrong. I saw him later during flintlock from the same stand. I once jumped a buck that was bedded around there, hunted the spot, left the woods to eat and relieve myself, came back and jumped the same buck in nearly the same place as earlier in the day. Had I stayed, I may have taken him upon his arrival back to his "bedding area". I am of the position that deer would rather evade you and stay in their core area than hightail it to parts unknown and risk running into danger they are not familiar with. If you play the wind wisely of course, hunting "bedding areas" is perhaps your only chance of taking a buck during daylight hours.
