Default RE: Can someone help me out ?

Vincent-

This place got my butt lined out and I'm very thankful for that. I always like hunting but was intimidated by archery because of all the variables involved. I have had a bow since I was about 12 but was never really good enough with it to feel comfortable bowhunting and wasn't lucky enough to have a mentor to learn by until just recently (I turned 30 last Dec.).

The people on this site are great and along with that old trapper/hunter/mountain man guy, have helped me find my way and I've done quite well. I took my first whitetail with a bow last year and then another a few weeks later.

This was my first year bowfishing and I have had a blast doing that. I've been using my first bow, the old martin. It's a blast and has been good way to hone some of my hunting and stalking skills and a great way to bond with one of my children (one that is old enough and has a definite interest in it). He wants to go hunting with me this fall during archery season, just to watch.

This summer was my rookie season as far as archery competition and I look a gold metal in a local FITA and took a trophy in the "B" class (Open/ -the big boys-) at my first 3D shoot (local circuit also). A few weeks later in the summer I took a 5th in the hunter class with a 292 out of 310 (300+10 bonus). I met alot of great guys and girls thhis year through 3D and feel like "part of the crowd" now. Some great new friends.

I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging because I don't intend to it's just that I'm very proud of what I've accomplished and owe alot of credit to the fine people here. They got me off on the right foot.

I hope this is kindof what you are looking for, because I'm here to tell you this site can do great things for you. I don't post a whole bunch, but I lurk here every weekday that I get the chance. Oh, and I've been around here for about 2 years. Archery is now a huge part of my life.

Here are some pictures for you. If you are like me you love visuals.

My first deer with a bow.

My son and I, and our first fish with bows. He scored first and I got mine the next day.

Pictures from the field shoot the last weekend of June. I took Gold but I was the only guy in my class. Only guy with a camo bow and I was shooting hunting arrows.

I've been working with Logan and next year he'll start going to 3D shoots with me. He shot the PSE Training centers indoor range this year and shot a 211/300 (first and only 3D).

Is this what you are looking for?
